Peacock Themed Parties

13 Feb

My friend Gabby is getting married next summer and is having a peacock themed wedding and I have taken it upon myself to round-up some inspiration for her!  Here is a really cute peacock themed engagement party from Hostess With the Mostess:

Next is a “Something Blue” Bridal Shower:

Over at DIY Bride, this couple made a lot of the details for their big day, and I thought the little favor boxes at each place setting are cute and look easy to make.  The decor could be easily customized to the party theme as well.

The boxes could easily be filled with candy such as Jordan almonds in your wedding colors, or some customized M & M’s with the couples names.

I love the idea of edible favors, and the following from Sweetopia knock out two things with one stone:

Sweetopia: Place Setting Cookies

These gorgeous cookies are place setting cookies!  They could probably do double duty and be used as favors as well.

One of my favorites from my quick search today, was this idea from Offbeat Bride:

Who couldn’t use some happy pills?!

Unique Wedding Guestbook

I came across Oh Lovely Day  and absolutely love her idea of having Jenga as a wedding guest book!  It would be great for a couple that loves board games or just wants something different from regular (boooring) wedding guest book.

Photo Share Cards

23 Mar

I stumbled upon this cute idea for weddings or any other large party, that I would have never thought of.  They are called photo share cards and you hand them out at your wedding so that your guests can share the pictures they took at your wedding.  Some are postcard size, but some like the one below, are business card size so that guests can easily put them away in wallets or purses.  Genius!

These photo share cards pictured below are from Etsy:

Ribbon Printing Tutorial

20 Mar

During my research for cheap, easy DIY projects, I found a tutorial for ribbon printing.  Here is my first attempt at printing on ribbon:

All you need for this project is:

  • paper
  • ribbon
  • double stick tape
  • inkjet printer

Print out a test page of whatever you wish to print on the ribbon. Keep in mind that your text must fit whatever width of ribbon you have. Once you are satisfied with the text, place your ribbon over the text and attach to the paper with double stick tape.

Run the paper through your printer and be prepared to be amazed!

I would not recommend using mesh-y type ribbon (first ribbon), because the ink did not show up on it.  I was in a rush to get the project finished so I did not wash and iron my ribbon like the other tutorial suggested.  If you wish to iron your ribbon first, I’ve found that a hair straightener is a quick, easy way to iron your ribbon.

There are endless possibilities with totally customizable ribbon! The candle I used is from the dollar store. I wrapped it with a strip of cardstock and then layered the ribbon on top using double stick tape to secure it. It still needs further jazzing up, but thus far it is a dirt cheap element that can be added to any wedding, bridal shower, etc.

OSU Wedding Inspiration

20 Mar

My friend Bree is getting married next year and has decided to go with an Ohio State theme.  I have made it my mission to find a girly, classy inspiration for a wedding with this type of a theme. I have only found one wedding that fit the bill. If you find any other weddings that have a girly, classy football theme, please let me know!

Here is one example I found on Style Me Pretty:
